December 31st @derrickcollins texted me and asked if I wanted to join him in "Project 365"
"What's that?" I responded.
"You take a photo every day. You can add it to the flickr group and I plan on adding it to facebook as well" he chortled.
Well I imagine he chortled. I couldn't tell through the text.
So bright and early the next morning I was off. Full of ambition I drove out looking for a good point to catch a sunrise over nearby Mt. Hood.
Not at all a sunrise. Nor Mt. Hood. But close, as I was probably wearing a hood and wished the sun would rise a little more. Now before this project started I was not involved with any planned photography. Meaning that, while I loved taking photos, I never planned a shoot or set out specifically to get a snap.
I know that had I just tried to attempt this on my own I would have probably given up after about a month. While I can't say for certain that I'll end the year with 365 photos, the fact that I have friends like Derrick out there who are marching forward every day gives me the extra push I need. There's no need to begin on Jan 1st. If you're thinking about doing this, don't wait till next year; just start today. And friend me on flickr while you're at it.
